She studied under Gwendolyn Reiche in Nottingham, gaining her Trinity College Teaching Diploma before attending The Birmingham Conservatoire of Music, where she completed her B.A. (Hons) degree in Music and her associate diplomas in Teaching and Performing.

She specialised in Wedding Musicianship and Choral training and continues her work in Nottingham and the East Midlands to date.

Elaine has a great deal of experience teaching both children and adult beginners through to advanced levels. Both patient and encouraging, Elaine keeps the lessons fun with no pressure.

Anyone wishing to gain formal music qualifications are taught to the highest possible standard and can be entered for ABRSM (Associated Board) examinations.

Overseas students are trained to exacting international standards where ABRSM qualifications are recognised and respected worldwide.

Elaine is the senior musician and leader of Musical Worship at St James Church Nottingham. She works with a wide cross section of musicians and different styles from traditional church music, choral, modern worship songs, band, jazz and Christmas music.

For your added peace of mind, Elaine and her husband John are both enhanced DBS Checked and approved Foster Carers for Nottinghamshire County Council.

Dex Star B.A. (HONS) FDA

Born in 1991, Dex is maried and has two children. He is the son of Nottingham Musician and Music Teacher Elaine Chapman. Dex studied at Redhill Performing Arts School and excelled in his musical ability as a first study drummer, guitarist and music technician. 

At just 16 years of age, and with a high level of academic results,  Dex took the unusual step of auditioning to be accepted early onto a  Music Performance and Sonic Arts B.A. (Hons) DEGREE course in Nottingham. 

At just 20 years old Dex gained his B.A. (Hons) degree in music and sonic arts!

Dex also holds music qualifications in Music Technology,  ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory and Rock School grade 8 Drumming which he  passed with DISTINCTION.
